A significant portion of the people of Xaragua carry the blood of the Lamentin Jews from Yemen.
From the very beginning of the Arab conquest in 634 AD, Yemen—once part of the first Christian kingdom in the world, Ethiopia—was attacked by savage and tribal desert hordes. Its population was enslaved and scattered across the world.
Today, the original Judeo-Christian heritage of these people remains deeply embedded in the culture of Xaragua. This legacy is reflected not only in Christian traditions but also in the animist practices of a segment of the population, preserving traces of their ancient spiritual identity.
